Out of more than 2 million Iraqi refuges, only 719 were allowed into the U.S, while our set ceiling of 70,000 refugees for 2007 is far from being reached.
Whether on purpose or by lack of commitment, the Bush administration failed to meet its own minimal standard of offering a haven to a few thousand of the most vulnerable Iraqis.
This situation cannot continue.
